When I first traveled to Honduras, the fabled, lost “White City” was still a myth. This book covers the supposed discovery of that city.
While there is still a lot of disagreement in academic circles about what’s actually been found, this book is still a solid read.

While it won’t win any awards, this is a fascinating travelogue of a backpacker traveling through the region in 1916.
His description of the Comayagua valley is hilarious.
