Cerro Azul Meámbar National Park (PANACAM)

One of the best-run national parks in the country. A well-marked loop trail winds through tropical rainforest and takes about 3–4 hours to complete. Along the way you'll enjoy views of Lake Yojoa, two small waterfalls, creek crossings, and abundant tropical trees, butterflies, and birds. No guide is needed — large maps are posted at various points on the trail. However, guided birding trips are available for those interested.
