TRAVEL WARNING
Our Very Own Travel Advisory for Those Brave Enough to Visit!
WARNING: Travel to Honduras places you at extreme risk of interacting with genuine, authentic, hard-working people who are happy to help you on your trip. Unlike those in many other destinations, citizens of Honduras probably will not want to sell you an overpriced tour or be too jaded with tourism to want to talk to you. In areas such as Lake Yojoa, Copan Ruinas, Utila, Roatan, Guanaja, Gracias (Lempira), La Esperanza, Rio Cangrejal, La Tigra, and other regions worth visiting, enjoyment and relaxation have been known to occur. As a traveler, you should be aware that activities such as ziplining, hiking, climbing behind waterfalls, and exploring ruins are widespread. Lodges such as D&D Brewery will likely have sufficient resources to provide you with everything you need to have a great vacation in Honduras.
Despite the above, if you do decide to visit Honduras, it is of the utmost importance that you follow these suggestions:
Be aware of craft beer, kayaking, and massages at D&D Brewery
Avoid eating too much artisanal cheese and drinking too much wine in Copan after exploring ancient Mayan ruins
Do not physically resist jumping into the Caribbean sea in Utila when learning to scuba dive
Be extra vigilant when hiking in Celaque NP near Gracias, Lempira or in La Tigra national park—you might encounter species of birds you've never seen before
Do not display signs of over-enjoyment when rafting down the Rio Cangrejal—you're supposed to look tough, like a pro, in whitewater, so that your friends back home think you're cool
Exercise caution in Roatan that you don't drink one too many Monkey LaLa's
